Auburn’s Wendell Green was questionable against USC and only played 12 minutes of ineffective time after seeming to re-aggravate the injury. Meanwhile Washington has hoped to get back Noah Williams for this stretch but it seems more likely that he would return against USC with over an additional week of rest. I hope you’ll indulge me in the somewhat larger perspective I took in this review. I don’t like to just complain, and I hope that’s not what happened here, but this episode is so wrapped up in one of the show’s fundamental weaknesses.
By keeping tabs on A.R.G.U.S.'s manhunt for the assassin, Oliver, Diggle, and Felicity learn that a sting operation is underway to capture Deadshot - alive. Diggle is determined to see his brother's killer dead, with or without Ollie's help. Meanwhile, Laurel takes drastic steps to protect a young witness, exacerbating friction between Tommy and Oliver. Later, Roy Harper unconventionally pursues all leads to find his new hero, but runs afoul of Detective Lance. Back on the island, Oliver recalls how Shado helped him incrementally gain confidence with a bow and hit the target for the first time. We’ll see how much Green can play after he was limited with an ankle injury on Sunday against USC.
#23 Auburn Game Preview & How to Watch
August Richards livens up what otherwise might be a fairly rote episode. He’s a showier sort of villain than those Arrow typically presents, something that’s especially obvious when his character is compared with the show’s more straightforwardly gritty interpretation of Deadshot. Mr. Blank is merely the latest in long line of quotable TV sociopaths, but Richards pitches his delivery so that the character feels like more than a collection of self-consciously cool lines and moments. For all his obvious insanity, there’s a weird earnestness to his observations that the Queens have a beautiful home, but it’s full of pain right down the wood paneling.
Broome in particular is a pogo stick who is the primary reason Auburn is 2nd in the country in block rate. That’s a strength for both teams as Washington is 5th in that stat nationally although surely worse since the season-ending injury to center Franck Kepnang. The transfer from Morehead State is one of the bounciest athletes in the sport.
Episodes
He has been in the top-100 nationally in assist rate each of the past 3 seasons so he’s a critical piece for ensuring Auburn can move the ball. He’s shooting a career low from 3-pt range but a career high on 2’s so far. Williams lost his starting role a season ago when Auburn had eventual #3 overall pick Jabari Smith.
Feeling betrayed by Oliver for choosing Laurel over him, John decides to leave the team. Deadshot is back and Oliver, Diggle, and Felicity learn that a sting operation is underway to capture him -alive. But Diggle wants to see his brother's killer dead, even if Oliver won't help him. Auburn began the season 8-0 but have had a pair of losses recently to Memphis on a neutral site and at USC in their most recent game on Sunday. That puts them at 2-2 against teams in top-100 at KenPom where Washington is currently ranked 90th.
Streaming, rent, or buy Arrow – Season 5:
Please do not use ALL CAPS. There is no linking or other HTML allowed. When Sarah Lance instinctively beats up a thug in the mansion and asks Oliver how she could possibly know kung fu (not knowing she's in the Dominator VR), Oliver says she most likely used Jeet Kune Do . Newly appointed Mayor Oliver Queen finds himself challenged as he fights on two fronts for the future of Star City. With his right hand, John Diggle, back in the military and his sister Thea adamant about hanging up her vigilante hood as Speedy, Team Green Arrow is down to just Oliver and Felicity – but they’re no longer the only vigilantes in town.

Given that kind of efficiency he fits the definition of a volume shooter who is at his best when he’s able to get to the rim where he’s a great free throw shooter and adept at drawing fouls. Despite his size he’s also the best of Auburn’s perimeter defense getting steals. It’s taking longer than I might like, but Arrow’s Deadshot is slowly evolving into a character worthy of his comic book inspiration. By season four, this Deadshot should be legitimately awesome.

During Mr. Blank’s attack on her apartment, Laurel reloads her shotgun by sliding the pump up with one arm. In real life, while flashy, this move is risky and something a professional with guns wouldn't and shouldn't ever do. When communicating with other A.R.G.U.S. agents to look for Floyd Lawton, Lyla uses her codename "Harbinger" which is her superhero name from the comics. In season 8 of Arrow, Lyla would become Harbinger during the Anti-Monitor Crisis.

And on the island, Shado teaches Oliver how to use the bow. This episode focuses more on arrow's past and you kind of have to be a fan of arrow to understand it. As a freshman at Georgia Johnson shot nearly 40% from 3 but he has been below 30% last year and so far this one.
He’s 9th nationally in block rate after finishing 7th last year so there’s no question he’s an absolutely elite shot blocker. He also has finished in the top-50 nationally in offensive rebound rate each of the last 3 years. He is going to be a big problem for Washington’s defense getting second chances against the zone. He decides to force Rasmus to turn himself in, and, as Diggle later argues, his absence causes Deadshot to gain the upper hand and murder four agents. Even if Oliver had been there, Diggle’s visible anxiety could easily have tipped off Lawton in some other way.

Al Sapienza, who portrayed Rasmus in this episode, went on to play Joe West's partner, Fred Chyre, in the premiere episode of The Flash, "Pilot". Laurel takes the boy into her custody until his extended family can be reached, but the hitman comes after Taylor, who can identify him. Laurel is saved by the Hood, and Tommy suggests that they all go to the Queen Mansion for protection while the police look for the hitman. Laurel represents the Moore family, who are suing a corrupt businessman, Edward Rasmus, who cheated the family out of their life savings. A hit is put out on the family and the couple, Eric and Nancy Moore, are killed. If your review contains spoilers, please check the Spoiler box.
Either way, I’ll examine this in more detail once there’s a better sense of how much the show plans to invest in this particular story. A sting operation headed up by A.R.G.U.S. is set to capture Deadshot, who returns to Starling City after taking down a US Ambassador and six others overseas. Oliver agrees to help Diggle, but chooses to locate the man responsible for hiring the hitman instead of stopping Deadshot.

This is the kind of character that can become tiresome when overused, but Arrow has waited 20 episodes before going to this particular well, and this is an episode that really benefits from Richards’ energy. He even gets to share a rare genuine moment with Oliver when he asks him mid-fight just what the island did to him, and Oliver snarls that the assassin is about to find out. But in the ensuing episodes, the second complication has emerged, as Laurel has spent most of the season building a surprisingly healthy relationship with Tommy. Their romance has never been one of the show’s more compelling elements, but it’s been an effective use of their characters, and no matter how many times Tommy says Oliver is Laurel’s one true love, it’s difficult to really buy into that.
